I’m Sick of Hearing Men Debate Abortion
As if they know what they’re talking about
Let me preface this rant by firmly stating up front: NOT ALL MEN. But there is a not-small, loud, arrogant group of men out there who honestly believe they have every right to discuss and make decisions about a medical procedure, and a medical condition, they themselves can never experience.
Don’t get me wrong — I am certainly not happy with forced-birth women, but at least they understand what they’re trying to force on other people, if they’ve been pregnant, anyway. In fact, I highly suspect many forced-birth women have had kids they didn’t really want to and they’re so mad about it they want to force the same on all of us.
But to listen to men debate a week limit on abortion when none of them have experienced pregnancy, childbirth, miscarriage or rape, let alone abortion — is infuriating. The hubris is gobsmacking.
And the guys who like to debate it, will not shut up about it. You would think they have actual uteruses the way they go on, and on, and on, about “taking responsibility” (what about men’s responsibility?) and “vetting the men you sleep with” (why are women responsible for men’s morality?) and how “Europe bans abortion after 15 weeks.” (Which is not only wrong, but a completely different issue in countries that don’t…
