It’s Not About Porn
Conservatives trying to ban books are full of sh*t
As a cohort of some of the folks in the age group bitching and moaning about “pornographic books” in public schools lately, let me tell you a little bit about these folks, since I grew up with them.
These are the people whose parents let them watch all the softcore porn movies on the premium cable channels, like Porky’s and Fast Times at Ridgemont High, which has a rape scene in it. When these people were kids, they stole their dad’s Playboys and Hustler Magazines and watched their parents’ dirty VCR movies when their parents weren’t home.
Back in high school, they were either trying to get laid, or trying to keep from getting pregnant. These are the same people who bullied the gay kids when they were in school. Now they want to remove any books that discuss LGBTQ issues or LGBTQ sex from school libraries because they claim these books are “pornographic.”
They’re not worried about porn. Many of them aren’t even trying to keep their kids from porn — as long as it’s straight porn, of course. In fact, many of these dads will give their sons porn, as a male bonding sort of thing. Not their daughters, of course. Their daughters might have to pledge their virginity to their daddies, though. (Blech!)
