This was inevitable and completely the fault of right-wing media
The moment trump was elected president I wondered: When will trump supporters be forced to face the truth? As right wing media lied to trump’s supporters even as much as trump himself lied, it seemed the whole thing was a house of cards. At some point, I thought, trump will do something that someone in authority will not abide, they will push back, and he will be exposed as the criminal he is.
I hoped this would happen early in his presidency. As it turned out, that moment never came. Ironically, it may be happening now, nearly two years after he’s been out of office. With the announcement that the FBI had “raided” Mar-A-Lago with a warrant issued by a Federal Judge, trump supporters are melting down. They are threatening violence and are generally worked up to a froth over the news.
Just this morning, some dumbass trumper wearing body armor and carrying an A-15 tried to attack the FBI offices in Cincinnati. (No, we haven’t officially learned it was a trumper, but I’m going to go ahead and call it now.)
If you peruse trump supporters’ comments online, it seems as though it’s finally starting to dawn on some of them that trump might actually be in trouble with the law. Don’t get me wrong — they’re still largely in denial, wondering why…
