One Last Time: We Don’t Abort Viable Babies in This Country

This is a vicious lie millions of Americans believe about the USA

One thing that particularly bugs me when people debate about abortion — besides everything — is how many people have opinions about it that are not only completely wrong, but based in absolute nonsensical fantasy.

There is one anxiety people express again and again: The idea that “abortion without restriction” means pregnant people will suddenly begin flocking to abortion clinics in their 30th week of a perfectly healthy, non-problematic pregnancy and demand their viable fetus be executed. Not only that, but these people also believe there are bloodthirsty, money-hungry doctors out there who just can’t wait to abort those pregnancies for cold, hard cash. To follow this absurd notion to its conclusion, apparently these people believe doctors could legally get away with such a practice without being stripped of their medical license and charged with a crime.

This is a vicious lie the “prolife” movement has managed to saturate this country in. Here are the facts: 92.7% of all abortions take place at thirteen weeks or less in the US.
