Republicans Aren’t Governing, They’re Ruling

And many people still aren’t paying attention

If you’re one of those people who think your vote doesn’t matter or that both political parties are the same, please consider the types of bills Republicans are bringing up for legislation in 2023 and take note: None of these bills are about helping Americans or expanding rights. In fact, nearly all of the legislation Republicans are now proposing actually hurt all Americans and threaten our freedom. When you consider all these proposals together, the effect is downright chilling.

Republicans are rolling back child labor laws

In response to labor shortages, instead of pushing for employers to offer higher pay or better benefits, Republicans in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin are proposing weakening the child labor laws so that kids as young as 14 can work in the construction and meat packing industries, and they’ve already extended the number of hours per week 16 and 17 year olds can work. Wisconsin has already eliminated the term “child labor” in state employment statutes, and replaced it with the term “employment of minors.”
