The positivity of Black Americans never ceases to amaze me.

For one, engaging primarily with anti-racism books warps your belief in the goodness of humanity. Call me an optimist but I always like to believe that all people are inherently good, regardless of their race. Engaging predominately with anti-racism literature sometimes makes you think otherwise — attuning your thoughts to believe that the color of a person’s skin bears testament to their motive and character- which is not the case.
