The Top 10 Billy Idol Videos of All Time
PLUS: Billy Idol has a New Christmas Album Out!

Why would a middle aged writer bother to make a list of the top ten Billy Idol music videos of all time? Because I’m a GenXer, bitch, and that’s what we do. We keep reminding you of all the triumphant shit we came up with back in the day that’s still really fucking good right damn now. (Mostly the music. Our movies were clearly problematic.)
Besides, I’m in the middle of menopause and Billy Idol is what gets the old gal’s engine running lately. I can’t explain it. I just go with it. So it goes without saying that I’ve been staying up late at night and watching Billy Idol videos on the YouTubes after the hubster has gone to bed, if you know what I mean, and the guy is just as good looking now as he ever was.
ANYWAY, what’s important is that Billy Idol has a new Christmas album out and though it’s probably not what you’d expect, it’s got some really good tunes on it. Spoiler alert: in a surprise move, Billy has gone full crooner, and it works because he is Billy Goddamned Idol and he has been cool since the beginning of time and he will always and forever be the sneering golden god of glam/punk/rock and now FUCKING CHRISTMAS MUSIC TOO.
So with that, let’s get to the TOP 10 BILLY IDOL MUSIC VIDEOS OF ALL TIME, MOTHERFUCKERS.
10. Rebel Yell You know how fucking good this video is, right? Well it’s that fucking good and it’s number 10 on this list, so that gives you some idea of how this list is gonna go. This video is shot concert-style, though obviously in a studio. Still, it’s classic fucking ’80s with fog and sexy people in skimpy leather outfits with ginormous hair and Daryl-Hannah-in-Blade-Runner-style makeup while Steve Stevens wails away on the axe next to Billy. It’s fucking awesome.
9. Bitter Taste Surprise! This is a brand new single from Billy, and of course it’s fucking great. It’s a moody, gorgeously shot video and the song kind of has that groovy but also sort of eerie 1960s…
