They’ll Take Your Rights & Demand You Smile While They Do It

Something I just can’t cease to be amazed by is how shocked conservatives are when people get angry at them for restricting American’s rights.

They are so arrogant on their moral high horses they seem to believe the people whose rights they’re taking away are going to kiss their butts with thankfulness. When people (understandably) respond with anger and <gasp> rude words, conservatives are SHOCKED. How dare you curse at me for making it harder for you to vote!

It would be laughable if it weren’t so infuriating.

Recently, Tennessee Republicans attempted to oust Reps. Justin Jones and Justin Pearson, two Black Democrats, from the Tennessee State House of Representatives for peacefully protesting gun violence.

When Tennessee Republicans were immediately and correctly called out as racists, they whined about it to each other behind closed doors. Thankfully, someone was recording and released the audio:

Republican Tennessee State Representative Jason Zachary had this to say:

“I listened for the last three days to democrats trash us as racists. I’ve never had anybody call me a racist and for the last three days all I have heard from them is how this is the most racist place… one of them even called us white supremacists. Good Lord, we have to realize they are not our friends…

They destroy the republic and the foundation of who we are, or we preserve it.”

Because calling out racists as racists is what’s destroying the Republic, as opposed to the poisonous racism this country has never really dealt with. Sure, Dude.

With conservatives’ success in overturning Roe Vs. Wade, this is the first time since Reconstruction the Supreme Court has taken away a fundamental right instead of expanding rights. Yet Justice Samuel Alito has the nerve to complain about public concerns the court is illegitimate. He really seemed to think he could take away rights with no consequences.
