Ugh. I was a white checker in grocery a long time ago and you're totally right: some grocery employees talk shit on all food stamp and WIC recipients, and yes, some white employees will assume a Black customer is on food stamps. I'm hoping she was just lazy and would have bitched about having to check out anyone's full cart. (Which is stupid, because when you work in grocery, you're going to get big orders.) You're also right that you did not owe her bitch ass an explanation about anything you were buying. I'm so sorry that simply checking out in the grocery store turned into all that for you, especially when you were spending so much damn money in their store. ❤️
