What I Don’t Understand About House of the Dragon

When will Rhaenyra act like a damn queen?

The highly anticipated House of the Dragon, prequel to the Game of Thrones story, has been disappointing a lot of people for a lot of different reasons — so many, in fact, I’m not going to go into them. You probably have your own complaints.

My biggest complaint has to do with the successor to the throne, Rhaenyra, and the piss-poor way her father, King Viserys Targaryen, trains her to be queen after naming her his successor. Instead of teaching her the job, she’s shooed out of meetings regarding military strategy. As far as I can tell, she’s never been taught to fight. As the entire kingdom doubts her ability to take over the throne one day, the king does nothing to teach her how to be a leader and garner respect — but maybe that’s because he’s not that great of a king himself.

What I will never understand is why Rhaenyra continues to let everyone walk all over her. She’s a dragon rider, for Christ’s sake.

If I had a dragon, there wouldn’t be one single person left in that castle who I didn’t trust. Not one.

That fake bitch who pretended to be my friend and then married my dad? There’s no way she’d prevent me and my DRAGON from claiming my throne. My creepy uncle who wants to have sex with…
