What is Musk Doing With Twitter?
I refuse to call it X
At first, was a little difficult to figure out what the heck it is Elon Musk is doing and has done to Twitter, watching him make terrible decision after terrible decision about the company. He’s alienated advertisers, driven away legitimate journalists and celebrities who used to generate billions of dollars of revenue for the company, and the company is now private, which means Musk isn’t beholden to investors, so he can drive it into the ground, if he wants.
But that’s not what he wants. Now it’s crystal clear what his goal his.
Musk purchasing Twitter was never about what he claimed — it had nothing to do with a desire to foster free speech, or grow Twitter as a business, or even make Twitter bigger and better.
Nope. This is about Elon Musk using his wealth to attempt to engage in social engineering. He wants to control the narrative and the flow of legitimate information. He wants chaos and disinformation, because he has the power to do so. He wants to see if he can use his wealth to sway political elections. That’s why he’s re-branded the company X, which I refuse to use. It’ll always be Twitter to me.
