White People Invented Identity Politics

Now, many are furious it’s being used against them

It always cracks me up when I see white people online whining about “identity politics.” They act as though racial identity is a new concept in the United State of America, and they’re under “attack” because mainstream discourse now dares to discuss out loud white folks’ plentiful built-in advantages in American society and culture.

Let’s be clear: White people invented identity politics. White people in the US especially have worked since before the founding of this nation to make sure the wealth and resources and power are almost exclusively held by white people. These are the same people who of course insist they “don’t see color,” and they don’t want to talk about race — ever — because it’s easier to claim white people’s greed and power is somehow blessed by God and not because the deck is heavily stacked in our favor. (You know. That one god who supposedly makes the sun shine brighter over the US and blesses white people with money and houses and cars, forever and ever Amen.)

But their hypocrisy was clearly exposed when Barack Obama was elected president of the United States of America. Apparently the Black moderate in the White House was just too much for them, and it thoroughly it broke their brains. A Black family simply existing in…
